| Internship Hour Credits | ||
| Internship hours spend on active cases may be used toward the American Association for Legal Nurse Consultant's [AALNC] 2000 hours of LNC practice experience eligibility requirement for candidacy to sit for the Legal Nurse Consultant Certified [LNCC] examination. The hours must be obtained within the 3 years preceding the LNCC exam. | ||
| The American Legal Nurse Consultant Certification Board [ALNCCB] policy states that hours worked in formal internship or clinical practicum programs can be counted toward the practice experience eligibility criteria, as long as these internship or practicum hours are worked on active client cases and consist of activities which would generally be considered billable and match the types of activities, topic areas and criteria currently used to describe practice experience. | ||
| Internship/practicum hours can only be used toward a maximum of 10% (200 hours) of the practice hours submitted by an individual LNCC candidate and must be able to be documented through a formalized internship or practicum program. | ||
| Hours worked on active cases in areas that are considered billable whether by a beginning LNC in an independent practice/in-house position; or in a formalized internship provides the same practical experience in that it is work being done on behalf of a client with the case outcome dependent on the activities being performed. | ||
